Sereno SC Founding Member of Western College Development Academy

Sereno Soccer Club is excited to announce we have accepted an invitation to be a founding member of the Western College Development Academy-Boys (WCDA).  Sereno will be one of 24 elite clubs to participate in the inaugural season in 2010-2011. Participation in the WCDA will enhance our already successful boys program which has accomplished the following in 2010:

Added to the benefits of our partnership with Chelsea FC, this Academy program will ensure that all Sereno players receive the best training and compete at the highest levels of play in the USA.


WCDA Try-Outs

Please join us for our Western College Development Academy - Preliminary Try-Outs this Sunday May 23, 2010.  

Sereno will field 4 teams: BU15-BU18.

WCDA FAQ:

Why the Western College Development Academy?

 

Mission: To inspire the top soccer athletes to strive for a college education and college soccer opportunities

 

Objectives: 

  • Elevate the top clubs in the region to provide top competition for the players and a marketing advantage to the participating clubs
  • Elevate the opportunities to showcase the top players and teams from the Western region
  • Provide better viewing opportunities for college coaches
  • Provide high level competition to the aspiring, college bound athlete
  • Provide flexible and regional travel opportunities to the top clubs in the western United State
  • Provide team and player profiles to college coaches
  • Educate the families about the soccer opportunities in
  • Create game rules based on college rules (e.g., re-entry)

 

Other Important Facts:

  • Unlike other Development Academies, the WCDA allows participating teams to carry on competing in the State Cup/Regional Championships/National Championships/State League/Far West Regional League and any other events.
  • Clubs were selected based upon their historical success developing players and teams.
  • Season consists of 18-20 league games, 3 Showcases in Arizona, Las Vegas and Southern California and a league Championship in Washington State hosted by Crossfire Premier.
  • Other participating clubs include: Slammers, Albion, West Coast FC, Real Colorado, Neusport, De Anza, La Roca, Crossfire Premier, Washington Premier and more.
  • 3 West-State-US Divisions: Mountain, Pacific and Evergreen.
